Anchorpoint Financial, the Hong Kong stablecoin issuer backed by Standard Chartered’s Hong Kong bank, plans to bring its Hong Kong dollar-pegged stablecoin, HKDAP, to Solana. The company announced a strategic collaboration with the Solana Foundation on October 30, its first partnership with a public blockchain foundation.

HKDAP on Solana: Native Minting, Redemption and Launch Status

Anchorpoint intends to support native minting and redemption of HKDAP on the network. Native minting would create tokens directly on Solana, while redemption would allow holders to exchange them through the issuer. The company expects the integration to enable near-instant settlement and support retail payments, tokenised real-world asset trading.

The announcement is a plan, not a live service. No launch date or official Solana mint address has been disclosed. Users should not assume that a token using the HKDAP name on Solana is genuine until Anchorpoint publishes and verifies its official contract details.

Anchorpoint’s HKMA Licence and Solana Partnership

The collaboration also makes Solana a strategic partner in Anchorpoint’s Tokenised Money Adoption Programme, which aims to encourage wider use of tokenised money. PwC joined the programme. Anchorpoint says Solana supports approximately $4.9 billion in tokenised real-world assets and more than 835,000 RWA holders, creating a market for Hong Kong dollar settlement.

Anchorpoint was established in February 2025 as a joint venture involving Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), telecommunications group HKT and Animoca Brands. In April 2026, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority granted it stablecoin issuer licence FRS01 under the Stablecoins Ordinance. The licence places the company within Hong Kong’s regulated stablecoin framework, but does not mean its planned Solana service is operational.

Blockwind News Analysis: What HKDAP on Solana Means for Hong Kong

The planned Solana expansion exposes a central tension in stablecoin adoption: blockchain networks can be decentralised, but trusted digital money still relies on identifiable issuers, regulated reserves and dependable redemption. HKDAP could connect Hong Kong’s currency with Solana’s payments and tokenised-asset ecosystem, creating another route for local-currency settlement.

However, the missing operational details are significant. Without a launch date, verified mint address, circulation figures and transparent redemption procedures, users cannot assess availability, liquidity or reliability. A regulated issuer’s backing does not remove smart-contract, custody, reserve or cross-chain risks.

For Solana, the partnership signals institutional interest in regulated fiat-backed assets. For Hong Kong, it supports efforts to expand tokenisation within a supervised financial framework. The meaningful test will be whether HKDAP progresses from a strategic announcement to transparent issuance, reliable redemption and measurable usage. Until those milestones arrive, this remains a roadmap rather than an active Solana stablecoin market.
