Eddid Financial, SageRock Capital and ArtWise have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the development of art tokenisation and blockchain finance in Hong Kong. The collaboration seeks to combine expertise from the financial, blockchain and art sectors to position Hong Kong as a global hub for digital asset innovation and art investment.
Hong Kong Firms Partner to Expand Art Tokenisation
The partnership brings together the strengths of all three organisations. SageRock Capital will contribute its expertise in investment structuring and asset allocation, while Eddid Financial, through its subsidiary Eddid Securities and Futures, will provide regulated financial services and capital market capabilities. ArtWise, a specialist in art collection and investment, will offer its extensive knowledge of artwork sourcing, valuation and industry practices.
How Blockchain-Based Art Tokenisation Could Work
Together, the partners intend to explore compliant pathways for converting high-value artworks into tokenised digital assets using blockchain technology. Tokenisation enables ownership of physical assets to be represented digitally, allowing for enhanced transparency, traceability and the potential for broader investor participation.
The companies said the initiative will operate within Hong Kong’s established regulatory framework for virtual assets. Future products and services developed under the partnership will adhere to the compliance requirements of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and other relevant authorities, ensuring investor protection and regulatory oversight.
By leveraging blockchain’s immutable and transparent ledger technology, the collaboration aims to improve ownership verification, streamline transactions and enhance confidence in the art investment ecosystem. The partners believe these innovations can bridge the gap between traditional finance and digital assets while supporting the long-term modernisation of Hong Kong’s art market.
ArtWise highlighted that it will focus on identifying premium artworks suitable for tokenisation and will employ custodial trust structures alongside legally enforceable governance frameworks to ensure compliance and asset security. The approach is expected to provide institutional investors and private banking clients with access to credible and liquid art-backed investment opportunities.
Hong Kong Strengthens Its Real-World Asset Tokenisation Ambitions
The agreement also reflects Hong Kong’s growing ambition to become a leading centre for Web3 technologies and real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation. Eddid Financial has recently announced several blockchain-focused partnerships, underscoring its strategy to integrate traditional financial services with digital asset infrastructure. The latest collaboration with SageRock Capital and ArtWise further strengthens this vision by expanding blockchain applications into the art investment sector.
Industry observers believe the initiative could serve as a significant milestone in demonstrating how blockchain technology can unlock new opportunities in alternative assets while reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a global financial and innovation hub.
