{"id":12507,"date":"2025-08-25T15:03:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-25T15:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blockwind.io\/hk-en\/?p=12507"},"modified":"2026-09-12T15:05:27","modified_gmt":"2026-09-12T15:05:27","slug":"microbit-capital-management-launches-low-fee-spot-bitcoin-and-ether-etfs-in-hong-kong-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blockwind.io\/hk-en\/microbit-capital-management-launches-low-fee-spot-bitcoin-and-ether-etfs-in-hong-kong-2\/","title":{"rendered":"MicroBit Capital Management Launches Low-Fee Spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs in Hong Kong"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Our Correspondent<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MicroBit Capital Management Limited, a premier Hong Kong-based investment manager specializing in virtual assets, <strong><\/strong>today announced the official listing of two virtual asset spot ETFs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange: the MicroBit Bitcoin Spot ETF and the MicroBit Ether Spot ETF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MicroBit is fully licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) for Type 1 (Dealing in Securities), Type 4 (Advising on Securities) and Type 9 (Asset Management) regulated activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both ETFs debut last Thursday on the HKEX, offering investors direct exposure to the two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, Bitcoin and Ether, through a regulated and investor-friendly structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These ETFs are part of the MicroBit Funds Series (Hong Kong) ETF OFC and are designed to closely track the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate \u2013 Asia Pacific Variant and the CME CF Ether-Dollar Reference Rate \u2013 Asia Pacific Variant, respectively. Unlike futures-based products, these spot ETFs directly hold the underlying assets and aim to deliver low tracking error and cost efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With management fees of 0.5% MicroBit\u2019s ETFs are among the most cost-effective crypto spot ETFs listed in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of MicroBit\u2019s ongoing efforts to enhance fund performance, staking of up to 30% of the ether held in the Fund\u2019s portfolio is introduced to the MicroBit Ether Spot ETF. This will be conducted through SFC-licensed virtual asset trading platforms (\u201cVATPs\u201d) that are authorized to perform staking activities directly or via affiliates and third-party staking providers. After deducting any applicable service fees and slashing penalties, staking yields will be reinvested into the Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staking involves securing the blockchain network by locking a committed amount of ether as part of the proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, which supports transaction validation and network operations. By participating in staking, the Fund expects to earn rewards in the form of additional ether from the Ethereum network. Notably, the ownership of the ether held by the Fund is expected to remain unchanged throughout the staking process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kenny Khuong, CFA, Chief Investment Officer, MicroBit Capital Management Limited, said, \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to bring Hong Kong investors a secure and transparent way to participate in the growth of the digital asset ecosystem.
