Chinese artificial intelligence startup Moonshot AI is preparing for a potential listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with the company reportedly targeting an initial public offering (IPO) within six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Moonshot AI Moves Toward a Hong Kong IPO<\/strong> <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Beijing-based AI company, best known for its Kimi chatbot and large language models, has already presented a listing proposal to investors, signaling that its plans to tap public markets are moving beyond the preliminary stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IPO push comes as Moonshot AI experiences rapid growth following the launch of its latest model, <strong>Kimi K3<\/strong>. Released in July 2026, the model generated significant demand and reportedly forced the company to temporarily pause new user registrations after its infrastructure struggled to keep pace with the surge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What Is Kimi K3?<\/strong> <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kimi K3 is built with <strong>2.8 trillion parameters<\/strong>&nbsp;and features a <strong>1-million-token context window<\/strong>, allowing it to process extremely large volumes of information in a single session. Moonshot later released the model&#8217;s weights openly, giving developers greater access to the technology and potentially expanding its adoption beyond Moonshot&#8217;s own platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Moonshot AI Revenue Run Rate Reaches $300 Million<\/strong> <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The model&#8217;s commercial momentum has also translated into rapidly increasing revenue. Moonshot AI&#8217;s annual recurring revenue reportedly reached around <strong>$300 million<\/strong>, up from approximately $200 million in April and $100 million in March. The growth has been attributed to increasing demand for its AI products, including paid subscriptions and enterprise offerings such as Kimi Work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kimi K3 uses a mixture-of-experts architecture, allowing the system to activate only relevant parts of its massive parameter set for individual tasks. This approach can help deliver advanced capabilities while managing computational requirements more efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company&#8217;s IPO ambitions are also being supported by major Chinese technology investors. <strong>Alibaba, Tencent and Meituan<\/strong>&nbsp;are among Moonshot AI&#8217;s prominent backers. The startup was reportedly working toward a funding round that could value it at more than <strong>$30 billion<\/strong>, significantly above the roughly $20 billion valuation attached to an earlier financing round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If successful, a Hong Kong listing would mark a major milestone for Moonshot AI, which was founded in 2023. It would also provide public-market investors with another opportunity to gain exposure to China&#8217;s rapidly expanding AI industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the proposed IPO remains subject to regulatory approvals, market conditions and the completion of the company&#8217;s listing preparations.
