SBI Holdings has invested $270 million in Indonesian investment platform Ajaib Group, acquiring an approximately 20% stake. The investment strengthens SBI\u2019s strategy to expand its digital-asset and financial-services presence across Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SBI Acquires 20% Stake in Indonesia\u2019s Ajaib Group<\/strong> <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ajaib confirmed the strategic investment, describing it as Indonesia\u2019s largest technology funding round since 2022. The latest capital injection brings Ajaib\u2019s total funding raised since its launch in 2019 to more than $500 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ajaib operates as a multi-asset investment platform, giving users access to domestic and international equities, bonds, mutual funds and exchange-traded funds. Its services have expanded into cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, commodities and foreign exchange. The company also provides savings and payment services, while its over-the-counter operations offer stablecoin settlement and liquidity solutions to Indonesian companies and institutional investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investment gives SBI greater exposure to Indonesia\u2019s developing investment and digital-asset market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SBI operates SBI VC Trade in Japan and Coinhako in Singapore, while its portfolio also includes B2C2, a UK-based crypto market maker serving institutional clients. The group has continued investing in blockchain infrastructure and digital currencies, including JPYSC, a yen-denominated stablecoin designed to support regulated financial settlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SBI is also developing Strium, a Layer 1 blockchain focused on financial applications and tokenised assets. Its investment in Ajaib adds an Indonesian platform that combines conventional financial products with cryptocurrency trading and stablecoin services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SBI Holdings President and Chairman Yoshitaka Kitao has highlighted the importance of international infrastructure as financial markets move toward tokenisation. The group has been developing a network of digital-asset exchanges and financial services across Asian markets as part of its broader APAC Digital Economic Zone initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What the SBI-Ajaib Partnership Could Mean for Indonesia<\/strong> <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ajaib could support this strategy by connecting SBI\u2019s digital-asset expertise with Indonesia\u2019s growing retail and institutional investment ecosystem. The partnership could also provide Ajaib with access to SBI\u2019s experience in trading, liquidity, blockchain technology and regulated crypto services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Ajaib, the new capital provides resources to expand its multi-asset platform. For SBI, the transaction secures a position in one of Southeast Asia\u2019s largest economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The $270 million investment highlights the growing convergence between traditional finance and digital assets in Asia. As tokenisation, stablecoins and blockchain-based settlement develop, partnerships between established financial groups and digital investment platforms could become increasingly important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SBI\u2019s investment in Ajaib therefore represents more than a minority equity stake.
