The move marks a significant shift in the country&#8217;s regulatory approach, bringing crypto assets under a framework similar to traditional financial instruments and introducing stricter rules for market participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to local media reports, cryptocurrencies were previously regulated primarily under Japan&#8217;s Payment Services Act, which treated them mainly as a means of payment.
